OIDC (OpenID Connect)
An identity layer on top of OAuth 2.0 for authentication and single sign-on.
OpenID Connect (OIDC) is an authentication layer built on OAuth 2.0. While OAuth 2.0 governs authorization (access to resources), OIDC adds authentication — reliably establishing who a user is. To do so, OIDC issues a signed ID token, and it is the foundation for single sign-on across multiple applications.
